Good waves predicted for Billabong Pro Junior at Seal Point coming weekend!

A favourable surf forecast has got the competitors amping for the Billabong Pro Junior, to be held this weekend at Seal Point. Offshore westerly winds are set to blow the whole weekend and a nice little swell is expected to arrive just in time for the event. The event will commence Friday 31 August and will finish Sunday 2 September.
Jeffreys Bay local Steven Sawyer is one goofy-foot surfer who has been putting the time in at Seal Point, and is determined for a big result this weekend. “The event should be rad if we get a bit of a pulse for it,” reckoned Steven. “I’ve had a couple training sessions there in the past week, and that wave is so rippable, so let’s hope for the best.”
Another hot favourite in the U20 Mens Pro Junior Division is Michael February from Cape Town, who has just come off a great result with a third place finish in the ASP 6-Star rated Vans Pro Junior at Virginia Beach in the USA on Sunday. “I am really looking forward to the contest,” said February. “It is the last event in the ASP Africa Junior Series, and all the boys will be looking for points to qualify for Worlds, so things could get interesting.”

The opening function will be at the Cape St Francis resort on Thursday evening (30th)
Surfers will be competing in the following divisions:
The premier U20 Mens and U20 Ladies Pro Junior division
U16 boys and U16 girls division
U14 division
U12 division

Mahalo to all contestants and event organisers from the entire J-Bay Surftrip Crew.
